It's been a busy couple of weeks mainly because of the move. We are now officially settled in into the new house with only a few more boxes to unpack but a lot of sorting still to do!
Firstly a recap on events prior to the move, we had a couple of quiet weekends involving small exploring drives and you guessed it coffee and cake stops!
We headed back to Alex Headland for a walk and for Neil to take some shots of the rocks at sunset unfortunately Neil's tripod had had enough of saltwater and gave up as his trusty companion. So that was the end of photography for a while! So straight to the cafe for a much needed coffee and cake!

Get that camera out my face!
Bradley had a new present from Grandma and Grandpa, A Joey jumper! Bradley was a bit unsure at first but now he loves it
Bounce, bounce!
A close up of the bouncy boy!
As we are getting our own sitting room at the new house, so we needed a TV. We went shopping and get our first LCD. Which is very nice and after such exertion refreshments were needed!

The quiet weekends were mainly due to the finishing touches being done to the website and now thanks to a lot of hard work from Neil's brother ,Ian, the new website is up and running. Have a look and feel free to comment and let us know what you think -positive as well as negative! Don't forget to sign the guestbook on the site.

The moving weekend was pretty hectic, the only breakage being a piece of glass from Neil's desk! We moved lots of small things all weekend as it's only 25 mins away from the old house and a removals truck took the big things on the Monday.
The house, which is of course is entirely Mum and Dad's and we are just the cheapo lodgers, is really lovely and in great setting.
It is about 1 and ½ acres with nearly half of that is a creek and rainforest area which has just been replanted and is the responsibility of the developers to look after for 3 years until it's growing well on it's own.

The house is on an estate, but not like an English estate. There is 18 plots on roughly 40 acres, so nice and spread out. We are only the 2nd people to move in so we'll be watching builders for a while yet! There are 4 bedrooms and we have 3 of them (one our own sitting room)and it's at a different end to Mum and Dad's so we have our own space which is lovely.
And best of all we have our own kangaroos, the most frequent visitor is 'Big Ben' who is a rather large roo and spends most of his day in the creek area but grazes on the lawn mostly first thing in the morning. Also two smaller girl roos who i've called Pinky and Perky are regular visitors too. There are lots more roo's at the top of the hill but haven't visited us yet.
Pinky(or it might be Perky!)

They have started the pool this week, we designed it using the hose pipe then they came and dug the hole and now the framework is going in. It should take around 4 weeks to finish.
The pool so far
We are not connected to mains water here so you have to rely on rain water, we have a 45,000 litre tank (buried mainly underground) and all the drainpipes collect all the water and it flows into the tank. Luckily we had a rainy spell about 2 months ago and it only took a few days to fill to the top. But as it hasn't rained for a quite along time now , we have to be careful with it. But much to our surprise the water tastes lovely!
The unusual cold winter continues, typical on our first winter it's the coldest for decades. We have had frost nearly every morning this week but it's gorgeous in the day, shorts and t shirt weather in the sun with clear blue skies.
Bradley is doing very well, he's full of smiles and lots of personality. A few Bradley shots taken around the house.

He will be 5 months this weekend and has started on his solids. His favourite is banana and baby rice mixed together, he's also tried pear. But he turned his nose up at pumpkin!
yum, yum
Daddy feeding time!
Last weekend, was mainly spent settling into the house but we ventured out late afternoon to explore some of the back roads to the coast.
View from a nearby road
There's some lovely gravel roads leading to different bits of the coast with that middle of nowhere feel. We finally ended up at Coolum where we grabbed a coffee and took it to the beach while Neil took some long exposure shots to catch the star trials. But as this hadn't been planned we weren't really prepared with enough warm clothes for Bradley. So he only did a short one but he hopes to go back this week to get longer trails.
Coolum Cove star trails
Sunday afternoon we had planned to go up to Noosa but the pool planning proved to be a longer process, so we just headed to just north of Coolum a little spot called Stummers Creek, where the end of the creek stops just metres from the Ocean, we walked along the beach for about 20 mins to Coolum for refreshment before walking back in time for Neil to catch the last glow reflecting in the creek.

Neil has been working in Peregian Springs this week which is just slightly north of Coolum, so pleased that he can drive to work on the back roads( very different from his M6 days) especially when it was a misty morning. He took this shot on Tuesday morning on the way to work.
