Neil’s parents arrived very early on a Monday morning, so early they got to the airport before us! As we live on the quieter Sunshine Coast we’re not used to Monday morning traffic but at 6am it’s rush hour heading into Brisbane!
After a lovely reunion and first meeting for Bradley we headed home to show them our new pad! I think they liked it and it didn’t take Bradley long to start showing off within a couple of hours he took his first proper steps and walked right across the deck!
We had booked a week in an apartment at Coolum, the penthouse, as it’s low season it was a good time of year to get a bargain. It had a rooftop terrace with long ocean views, bbq and a spa! Very nice.
On there first full day it rained and rained! But we headed into the hinterland and managed to squeeze in a rainforest walk in between showers. And stopped at a bakery for lunch for what turns out to be the first of many many pies for Nigel over the next few weeks!
Bradley took to his nanny and granddad very quickly!
A slighter nicer day meant we packed the swimmers and headed out to Noosa, we spend a very enjoyable morning at Noosa main beach, one of the most popular beaches on the coast.
Bradley loves the beach!
After another pie, we dragged the oldies on a walk/trek around Noosa national park unfortunately it clouded over so didn’t look at it’s best but one of the highlights was the koalas, Ann the super koala spotter, saw the cute little chap up a tree. But even better as we arrived back in the car park, one of these sleepy creatures was on the move, this koala climbed down his tree and up another! Very usual to see this in the wild.
The wild koala
Another day we had an enjoyable day out at Australia zoo.
It gave Ann and Nigel the chance to get super close to some Aussie natives….
Koalas and…….
Kangaroos…….
But left it to Neil and Bradley to handle the croc!
All the excitement proved too much for Brads!!!
One afternoon while relaxing on Coolum beach, it all went black and a very strange cloud headed our way. In Oz you can usually see the rain coming. We beat a hasty retreat back to the apartment apart from Neil who headed back out with his camera.
Enjoying the beach.
The strange cloud.
Neil's shots that night.
A really exciting day out was scenic flight day, we had bought Ann and Nigel, around the Sunshine Coast, the plane had 4 seats so we got to go too! (well planned!)(Bradley stayed with Grandma Gallagher) It was fantastic, we flew down to the Glass House Mountains and back up along the coast.
