The alarm went off at 3.45am on Tuesday 2nd Jan, so it must have been time to put the new years resolution of getting up for more sunrises into practice. We drove down to Caloundra where the wreck of SS Dicky lies, we got to Dicky Beach in perfect time to catch the early colours before the sun came up.
It was great shoot with Neil really pleased with the results but unfortunately for him the tide was coming in so most of the shots where taken with Neil waist deep in the waves. Note to self, pack swimmers in with camera gear. Cath sat in the sand drinking coffee watching in disbelief hoping the camera didn't get wet!
We left the beach about 6am and headed for home via Montville where we stopped for breakfast, we sat outside a bakery with cappuccino and croissant except Neil had a pie with ketchup smeared over the top with his coffee, classy!
We passed a viewpoint of Lake Baroon, so a final shot was called for from the top of Tanky again, he is proving useful!
Back home for a couple of hours sleep!
